I’ve never pulled to the side of the road as quickly as I did Thursday morning, when the sunlight reflecting off dew-covered cherry blossom trees caught my eye. I was running a bit behind, so I snapped like crazy for a few minutes, hoping I successfully captured what had caught my attention in the first place.
I never tire of these beauties. Cherry blossoms are only around for a short time, and they brighten up the landscape with their pink hues. It’s the same when the leaves change colors in autumn, another season change I look forward to every year. I suppose I enjoy photographing these two brief season transitions so much because they’re so fleeting, and it’s not enough to just enjoy them as I drive by. Getting out of the car and experimenting with different angles and light is my way of appreciating these fleeting signs of my favorite seasons.
