A few Saturdays ago, I drove down to Olympia to spend the day with my good friend Grace. She and her husband Christopher had just moved into a great new apartment with a beautiful view of Capitol Lake. We spent some time catching up over tea and the brownies I made as a belated birthday present for Grace.
Grace and I met in 2007 when we both worked for Nisqually Valley News in Yelm. It wasn’t until we had both moved on to new jobs that we started spending time together. Our visits usually consist of good food, taking photos, and shopping. We found these pretty cups at a store in downtown Olympia called Compass Rose. Grace fell in love with them.
This particular Saturday was rainy and cold, so after a couple hours of shopping, we headed over to San Francisco Street Bakery for hot drinks and treats. We had the place to ourselves. Before we indulged, we all snapped photos of the goodies.
Next, we retreated back to Grace and Christopher’s place, where we browsed through photos the two had taken of our wedding. I can’t believe it has already been five months! Grace and Christopher got married three months before us, but delayed their honeymoon until after our wedding—so we took our honeymoons at the same time. After reminiscing a bit, we cuddled their cat, Roxy.
