I want to introduce a new feature on this blog: local dessert spotlight. Once a month or so, I’ll photograph and write about a local dessert or other sweet treat. I love my hometown and all it has to offer, so I’ll mostly be focusing on Tacoma businesses, but I’m likely to venture out of my city here and there.
One of my favorite drinks there is the lavender latte. It’s made with a lavender syrup, which I was honestly surprised to learn. It doesn’t have that overly sweet taste that a lot of flavored lattes do. It’s velvety and smooth, lightly sweet rather than cloying. The lavender flavor is subtle but definitely there.
Cafe Brosseau is a quaint little coffee shop with a friendly staff, reasonably priced lunch and breakfast, and offerings from other Tacoma businesses: Corina Bakery, Alina’s Soups, Mad Hat Tea, Madrona Coffee, and Lynnae’s Gourmet Pickles.
